A counterbalance truck generally needs about 12–13 feet, a reach truck about 8–10 feet, and very-narrow-aisle equipment about 5–6 feet. Confirm the working aisle with your truck specifications and actual load dimensions before ordering; aisle width has a major effect on how many rows fit.

How long does it take to get and install drive-in rack?

Standard teardrop sizes often quick-ship; high-density systems and non-standard sizes take longer, and lead time is confirmed on the quote. Installation time depends on bay count, site readiness and how the work is phased. For a relocation, teardown and transport also need to line up with the new building's receiving schedule.

Do you install the rack you supply?

When Drive-In Is the Wrong Answer

Drive-in works with few SKUs and many pallets of each. If you carry hundreds of items, it will leave half-empty lanes and frustrated drivers.

It is last-in, first-out from one aisle. For strict date rotation, pallet flow or drive-through designs fit better.

Drivers operate inside the structure, so experienced operators and good lighting matter more here than with any other rack.

For mixed inventory, a pushback or selective block nearby often handles the slow movers while drive-in holds the bulk items.

Lane width is set by your forklift and pallet width, with clearance on each side. We measure your truck's overhead guard and mast before laying out openings.

In older 18 to 24 foot block buildings, drive-in may only reach three or four loads high. Newer 32 to 36 foot tilt-wall buildings can go much higher if your trucks reach.
