Warehouse Relocation in Miami, FL
When a South Florida business changes buildings, the rack has to come along. We tear down, label, move and reinstall pallet rack and storage systems, and add new rack where the next building needs it.
Unlike most warehouse moving companies, our focus is the storage system: getting it out of the old space cleanly and back up in the new one, drawn and installed.
Why Miami Businesses Move Rack
Many operators outgrow older block and precast buildings in Hialeah, Medley or Opa-locka, where clear height runs around 18 to 24 feet and columns sit close together. The usual next step is a newer tilt-wall building in Airport West, Doral, Hialeah Gardens or Pompano Beach with 32 to 36 feet of clear height.
Others move closer to the freight. Being near Miami International Airport, PortMiami, Port Everglades or the Port of Palm Beach can shorten trips along the Palmetto, the Dolphin Expressway, I-95 or the Turnpike.
Either way, the rack you own is usually worth moving. The question is how much of it fits the new building, and what new steel fills the extra height.
How a Rack Relocation Runs
Inventory the rack you own
We count uprights, beams, wire decks and accessories, and record capacities and frame depths. That list tells you what can move and what is worth replacing.
CAD layout for the new building
Your new space will have different clear height, column spacing and dock positions. We draw the existing rack into it first, then show where new rack fills the gaps.
Teardown and labeling
Each component is tagged by row and level so reinstall goes fast and parts end up where the drawings place them.
Transport coordination
We stage bundles by install sequence and coordinate trucks so steel arrives in the order crews need it.
Reinstall and add new rack
Rack goes up per the approved plans, capacity labels go back on, and any additional bays or new systems are installed alongside.
Scheduling the Move Around Your Operation
A rack move touches everything else you are moving. We coordinate timing with your freight or inventory mover so the old building empties in the right order and the new one fills the same way.
Hurricane season, June through November, shapes the install calendar, and we plan moves with that window in mind. Loose steel and staged bundles always have a tie-down plan if a storm approaches.
Teardown and reinstall are phased by zone, so shipping keeps running at one end while crews work at the other. Our team handles the permit side for you.
Reconfiguring as You Move
A move is the easiest time to change your storage. Importers near the airport often add pushback lanes; cold chain tenants may add pallet flow in the new cooler; 3PLs frequently add a carton flow pick line.
We check forklift reach and aisle widths against the new layout, and confirm beam capacities still suit the pallets you ship today. In humid, non-air-conditioned or coastal spaces, we flag where a galvanized finish on new components makes sense.
